Like I said off the top, we are going to address some of the good things that came out of this game because, you know, nothing is ever objectively completely terrible in football.
And she missed a fair chunk of the game in the second half of the second quarter at the very start of the third.
But I thought she was excellent and gave us a really strong presence around the ball.
She was back to playing more of the role which suits her best, being winning that contested ball, feeding it out to teammates by hand.
There were still a couple of times where she ran past for the handball receiver from Mark, which I don't like seeing.
But, you know, other than that, her work mostly by hand was excellent.
We saw late in the second quarter how much we missed her strength around the ball, especially at stoppages, and her ability to just get her hands on the ball time and time again was really important for us, and frankly, one of the reasons we only lost by a point.
She tackled well, she applied physical pressure defensively, won the footy, and was just absolutely everywhere we needed her to be.
She had 24 disposals, which was a team high, with seven kicks going at 54% efficiency.
I like the fact she only had seven kicks in that 24.
That is, to me, quite significant because it means she's feeding out by hand more, which is where her strength is.
She had a game-high 18 contested possessions, so there's that strength around contest I was talking about.
She laid eight tackles, had a team-high six clearances, so there's that work at stoppage.
She had four score involvements and 148 metres gained.
It was a pretty poor day for the Hawks, but our acting captain stepped up.
on a day where it was a really difficult one for our side.

Did a really great job of making sure that she was in and around that contest.
Especially if they got the ball.
Exactly.
If they had the ball, they were going to be difficult.
We didn't think that they would defend all that well.
