I found an old CD that I made when I was 15 for a girl.

And some people when they're young are just born with it and they have this incredible, and you know, you see them at six years old, just like scrawled into the ceiling.

I was not.

I hope no one ever has to listen to that CD because it was so bad.

And I think like I was always pretty...

Like, I recorded myself a lot.

I was always really critical of my voice and always trying to figure out what I felt people wanted me to sound like.

And I think even in our own music, even in the band's music, you go back and listen to early, early, like, our first couple songs from 2019, you can tell there's a bit of me trying to clean my voice up and sound like other people.

You know, I dropped out of high school to be a musician.

I started taking it really seriously when I was 15, 16, even though listening back at the time, I thought I was killing it.

Listening back, I was not killing it at all.

But.

When I moved to New York, when I was like 20, and I spent the first three years just singing on subway platforms.

That was the only thing I did every day.

And that's what paid for, that's how I pay my rent.
