> Had a very passionate young guest on this episode, a fascinating conversation with Giacomo Gheda, a Gen Z avgeek from Italy. Giacomo spoke about his dreams and hopes for the industry and its future…
But let's talk a little bit about, you know, aviation, but also let's talk a little bit about your generation.
And just to give everyone a brief, Giacomo reached out to me.
with a very, I would call it, seriously interesting email.
And he had quite a few questions in that particular email, which interested me a lot.
And of course, there were a few other points that he raised, but let's talk about Gen Z, Giacomo.
Airlines have been around for, A long time, I think more than 100 years now.
And I was just doing a quick research on airlines that have been around for a really long time.
So KLM is perhaps the world's oldest airline operating with the same name, more than 100 years old.
And there are quite a few other airlines that have 100 years plus.
And they've sort of changed over the years.
You know, aviation has changed.
Airlines have changed.
Aircraft have changed.
But things today have become so quick, so fast.
I mean, aviation is today like a normal mode of transportation for many countries.
So I know you have some really strong thoughts about that.
What do you think that airlines can do to understand your generation better? What do they keep doing wrong? What do you think? What do you think on the topic of generation? are airlines do airlines understand you and what your generation wants or needs so
uh that's a good question you know i think that uh airlines are more focused on you know if i want social media coverage to gen z that's the good point but this is not always the solution because yeah social media are a good exhibition i think of what an airline can provide and things like this but When you are actually on your flight, the last things you want to see, it's a post on a social media, for example, on Instagram.
You know, you want the quality, you want, I don't know, not for me, but for a lot of people of my age, they want fast Wi-Fi on board.
So when a problem happens, I don't know, your flight is delayed or things like this, you want a clear communication with the airline because you want to solve the problem the quickest and the best way you can.
