Jamie and Nic return to discuss off-season shenanigans and Sydney’s Australia Cup game against Bayswater. Oh, and some small fraud club from London are playing a friendly against us.
Nic RojasHostJamieHostSo we'll start with some of the major outgoings that have happened in the last little while.
So first of all is Alex Grant has joined Newcastle, which I would say is a positive result for everyone.
Like, lovely bloke.
I really enjoyed his presence at the club.
I think he was the right person to have the dressing room.
I just...
I don't think he was ever going to get in over what Tisseron Popovich and JCP was he?

Yeah, no, I feel like his stint is probably, and like you said, it seemed like a great guy, brought in a bit of, you know, experienced set of heads in the squad.

Because when he came into the club, I think he came in at a pretty... poor timing in terms of how our defense was looking.

But unfortunately, I feel like he's probably going to be seen as a little bit underwhelming.

You know, getting injured at the latter point of the 24 or 25 season, you know, missing out on finals and then, He was in and out all of last season.

And I feel like once Kisnobo came in, having that Courtney Perkins and Popovich, no one was really going to break that back line partnership.

You know, Grant's already, like, I think a day or two after signing for Jets, he played in their unfortunate Preston Lyons defeat.
Yeah, and it was worth knowing that his debut came in that away leg in Bangkok, which was one of the nuttiest late-night football moments we've had at Sydney FC.
I think he was for a period that he did look so promising for us because, yeah, we were missing that experienced centre-back Like, we were playing Ryan Grant at centre-back at that stage of the season.
We were looking at Zach DeJesus and Joel King as potential options in the back four out of position.
So I think it was the right choice to bring him in.
But, yeah, I think something worked out.
