I meet Hilliard and all those guys.

It is such a challenge, an amazing job, but an incredibly difficult challenge for me and everyone else that was working there.

I just say it's like, it's tough, you know.

And John Caramonica covered the armory opening in the New York Times.

honestly i'm like getting a tiny bit emotional doing it because i was like that is so cool and it meant a lot and i was there and the armory was great and working for mark was a huge blessing and an honor but at the time i was like it's still mark's show and it's mark's company right and i'm kind of like at this point where it's like i want my own thing and so i'm like you know what i want to start my own podcast No one's ever done these.

It's 2016.

Things are kind of weird.

Be fun to do.

And I'm just going to do it.

But I'm like very much in this idea of don't do something unless you really want to try to do it.

Not like half-assed, but like care about it.

Put money into it.

Do everything you can to make it better.

Get feedback.

You know, I remember I'd started the show.

There was another host at the time.

And I would reach out to other people I knew and other journalists.

I was like, hey, I started this podcast.

Could you listen to it and give me feedback? And I emailed Walt Mossberg at the time because he was at The Verge, ex-Wall Street Journal guy.
