I would never think that you're self-taught because you guys have to check out Elizabeth's website.

I was on your website for a long time because I've never seen a website like that before, honestly.

But the reason I wanted to chat about this topic today is because as a marketing strategist, I'm not just helping clients post their content, right? I'm helping them build trust and nurture relationships.

And I always direct people to learn more about our clients by visiting their websites.

However, if their website doesn't support the message that their content is communicating, the marketing breaks down.

So I'm excited to get into today's episode because website is a conversation I've been having with past, current clients, and then that there is this disconnect.

So when I'm posting on your social media, it's like, hey, go check out the website.

And what's going to happen? They're going to end up clicking off because now you then confuse them.

Well, first, you probably for underperforming, you definitely need to know your.

So I always like recommend connecting to Google Search Console at the very least so that you know what your bounce rate is, what your visitor rate is, how many people are coming to your site, how many people are clicking through your site.

Understanding kind of what's happening with your site numbers wise is super important.

But beyond that, I would say, you know your site is outdated if what you're posting on social media isn't matching what your website says.

So if you've changed services, if you have different offers, whatever you're actively doing every day in your business should be reflected on your website.

So you want to make sure that, like you said, if I'm doing something on social media for a client and marketing, that that is reflected on what's showing up on their website.

But also I would say that the overall experience, like I think a lot of people think of their website as, oh, I just need to put something up and, oh, I just have something up or, oh, when I started my business, I just threw something up, which is fine when you first, like when you first, first start.

But I would say even like as you're growing your business, your website is, you should think of it as your storefront.

And so if you were opening a physical brick and mortar business, would you just say, oh, I just opened this place and threw a bunch of my stuff in here and wanted you to come buy some things? It has to make sense, right? Or I use the analogy of like an Ikea or a Target versus going to a garage sale.

And what do you want your website to feel like? Because Ikea is very structured, right? You're going through a path and they know what they're doing when they're guiding you through that path.
