(Ep.39) Parshas Matos-Masei: Every stop has a purpose

At the beginning of Parsha's Maaseh, the Torah lists all 42 places where Bnei Yisrael stopped in the desert.

The Torah says, Moshe recorded their starting points for their journeys.

Why do we need to know every single stop? Some places were just empty deserts where nothing big happened.

And the answer could be a huge lesson for living our lives.

The journey itself matters, not just the finish line.

Sometimes we feel like we are stuck in a waiting room period of life.

Maybe school is tough, maybe we are waiting for something big to happen, or maybe we are going through a hard time.

We think, once I get past this part, my real life will start.

But Hashem teaches us that every single stop has a purpose.

There are no wasted days.

Every challenge and every quiet moment is exactly where Hashem wants us to be right now so we can grow.

It's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking if I could just get through this week or once I finish this test, I can finally relax.

But as soon as that one thing ends, a new problem pops up.

If we always wait for the perfect stress-free moment to finally be happy, we'll end up waiting forever.

And the truth is, these obstacles aren't just annoying interruptions that are getting in our way of our lives.

They are our lives.

Hashem doesn't put roadblocks in our way just to trip us up or make things hard.

He puts them there because getting past them is exactly how we grow, how we learn, and become stronger as a person.

A smooth road doesn't test us or teach us anything new.

It's the bumps and the climbs that actually shape who we are.

Instead of looking at a tough situation and throwing it away so your real life can start, try to change how you look at it.

Ask yourself, what am I supposed to learn from this right now? When you realize that every obstacle is an opportunity given to you by Hashem, you stop waiting for the future and start living in the present.

So stop waiting for the destination to start living because Hashem is waiting for you inside the journey.
