I think the story part, it's one of the biggest parts of the book, but it's not just, you know, the monsters and the stats.

There is also lore there and some new mechanics as well from certain creatures.

Like, for example, the way you deal with an eldritch is not the same as you deal with a beast.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, speaking of mechanics, one thing I want to talk about here is you've added a few new mechanics to the game that I really, really like.
Can you tell us a little about how you came up with that? I mean, for our listeners who aren't familiar, stability points, you could almost call them hope, but it's not like a metacurrency.

It certainly has a root in Eldritch Horror, in Cosmic Horror from Lovecraft, where sanity is such a common thing to have there.

But here in Fomoria, I felt like we needed something to represent the darkness influence.

At first, I had something like, you know, corruption points or something like that.

But then I thought, why not have like two different health bars, no? and i actually took as a reference a board game called kingdom death monster something kind of similar you have a sanity there as well and different things and monsters can affect also to your sanity not not only your your health points i thought that that was super interesting because it opened up different ways of playing and dealing with creatures that normally You know, a tanky character can charge face first to this screaming horror, but then that screaming horror may touch upon their mind and their mind is super feeble.
yeah it reminds me of if you've ever played any of the arkham horror stuff the arkham horror board game and the card game have have two the same thing like a health hit points and a sanity hit points and they're

usually very like balanced in in regards to each other there right i feel like you either have high of one of them yeah like
if you're like the professor you have like low hit points and high sanity because you're like used to reading arcane lore one thing i really liked about this is like you know i was so happy to find mark borg obviously changed my whole life wrote a game for it right away but one thing that i did miss from like the kind of more fifth edition world was this kind of rock paper scissors thing that happens where you're like oh this monster has this resistance so this class won't work anymore they won't be the star anymore you have to pivot and you get some of that but this really really dials into that because all of a sudden you like you said you have monsters that are like hey this is not gonna cause you blood damage but man you are like literally gonna be running for fear very quickly right

it also opens up to more ways to like damage the character sheet like you attack more parts of the character sheets which is always something you want to do very cool yeah More vulnerable it is yeah
I think the other cool thing that goes along with this mechanic with the adding the SP But then they both have you have to remind me the names of them the tables that you roll on
