Seahawks quarterback (QB) met with media, emphasizing the offense's focus on daily consistency, sustaining drives on third down, and preparing to play decisively against a fast Kansas City Chiefs…
Thursday.
Yeah, just, you know, obviously had a few days to kind of look at ourselves, look at the Chiefs and, you know, really happy with where we're at.
You know, obviously there's some things we got to get better at and we've addressed those things.
And I think the biggest thing for us is just consistency, you know, consistency day in, day out.
But like I said, with these guys coming in here, great defense, you know, really good players, really good scheme.
So, you know, Got to prepare really well and do everything that we can to all be on the same page and go out there so we can play decisively on Sunday.
Sam, you said you're really happy with where you're at.
What gives you the optimism?
You know, obviously, sometimes it doesn't show it, you know, in the scoreboard or sometimes how it feels on the field.
Obviously, we just need to create a little more consistency in how we're doing it.
having having six or, you know, six, seven, eight plays that were like stringing together and then not being able to really convert a third down on that, you know, eighth player, what have you.
What specifics did you learn from assessing and looking at yourself?
Yeah, I think kind of like I just said, just consistency, you know, understanding what our strengths are, what our weaknesses are, and you know, obviously not going to share too much, but just being able to find a little more consistency.
Sam, you talked about decisiveness and this last game, more than half your passes were less than two and a half seconds before you threw it, but you also got hit more than you ever had in under two and a half seconds.
So how much do you just focus on what you got to do and how much do you try to like, you know, work across the team and figure out how you and each other can help each other get this where you want to go?
And when something's not there, you know, on the couple picks that I threw, just, you know, when that time clock starts to go off and, you know, just being careful with the football.
And sometimes that's throwing the ball away, and other times that's knowing, you know, just – when I'm kind of under pressure and even maybe even taking a sack in those situations.
So I think just understanding, you know, or not understanding, but being aware of the situation and, you know, not making a bad play worse is kind of the goal moving forward.
