Giovanni TrevisanHostWim, would you mind give us a little bit of update of the trends of disease and detection of SDRS now including Illinois VDL data?
Yes, so thank you, Doc.
So as we know so far in 2026, we have seen activity of these two pathogens are spending several weeks outside of the expected range.
The good news is that for both PEDV and Delta coronavirus, it has started to calm down with declining trend in July and continuing to remain at the lower level in August.
So this is something very encouraging.
However, when we move to mycoplasma, how pneumonia, we are seeing a different picture as the activity is starting to pick up in August, mainly driven by the winter market side with positivity reach 27%.
It also the highest level record for winter market side in mycoplasma, how pneumonia that we observed in 2026.
So, however, with those increases in mycoplasma houndamon, the overall activity still stay within expected range.
Moving on to influenza A virus, the activity for this month is somewhat similar with what we observed in July, and especially with the positivity in the adult cell farm had reached the lowest level we recorded since February.
2014, with less than 10%.
Well, good news for respiratory pathogen influenza that we have lower detections on farms.
So for PERS, in this month, starting to see seasonal uptick in the winter market side.
And in fact, overall PERS activity in August, also the highest level we record for any August since 2012.
And we also want to share with our audience, in terms of PRRS variant landscape, some interesting changes is that when we compare this same period of this year to last year, across the 11 monitor states, the predominant variants that detected right now all belong to lineage 1C.5 and lineage 1C.2. with the variant 1C.5.32 as frequently detected variant in six days out of 11 days.
That's quite different when we compare to same period last year where we're still seeing that the lineage 1C.5 and lineage 1A as the predominant these days.
The last thing we want to bring your attention is the pathogen salmonella.
So we haven't talked much about salmonella in this year because the activity mostly stable.
However, we observe some alarms and many detections outside of what we expected in July.
So this is the trend that we should monitor and looking as we move forward.
