So when, when you ha- when you are with your group, or in general if a person is, is just listening and watching, uh, what would you recommend to be just, like, the first approach for people that, uh, have never decided to stop, or maybe they've done some general breathing yoga practice but nothing particularly with the intention of learning some new techniques.
I think I've always got sort of just a nice icebreaker technique, um, which I kind of apply to any group if I'm meeting them for the very first time, or if I know I've only got 30 minutes, then I'll tend to take them through this practice.
Um, so we're gonna take four inhales in through the nose, and they're quite sharp and short.
[inhaling] Okay? And then by the time you hit the fourth, you'll feel very full.
And then we exhale through pursed lips, like you're blowing out through a straw.
We don't wanna [exhales] push the air out too much, 'cause then you're gonna start to get a bit too lightheaded.
So I'll say inhale to belly, [inhales] to chest, [inhales] to chin, [inhales] to head, [inhales] and release.
If I say drink from the top, you tilt your head up and you go and just suck in through the mouth like you're drinking from the top.
