Well, in the last couple of weeks, obviously the budget was released and we have seen, I think most of the announcements around the budget were pre-budget announcement, which was, you know, always interesting.
good news.
It's not like, oh, well, we're actually going to do this.
No one's going to like that.
Don't pre-release that.
So we are starting to see all of that rolling out and we are starting to see the rhetoric in parliament really shift.
which is a new experience for me because I'm, you know, running as the incumbent now, not just as a candidate.
Yeah.
And, you know, there's lots of issues and particularly I was surprised that the government commissioned Ken Lay, you know, to do a report on Victoria's gun laws and, you know, Ken, in his particular way, said there isn't specific evidence that reducing guns will help, but there is an evidence that says it won't.
So, as he said, you know, with the medically supervised injecting room many years ago on this station, he said, well, I haven't seen any conclusive evidence, Macca, as to why we shouldn't do it.
So, you know, reality is if there's less guns, of course, the leader of the National Party effectively paraphrased the NRA when he said, guns don't kill people, people do, which I thought, okay.
But the reality is...
The community, I believe, wants more control on guns.
Yet the Premier doesn't think that's the way to go.
And a lot of the other recommendations are really important.
I accept that.
I acknowledge that.
But reducing the number of guns can't be a bad thing.
