My dad was, uh, a land developer, and he had a business partner, a surveyor.

So this business partner of my dad lived in the Sabine National Forest.

Sometimes on a Saturday my dad would go and visit him, and he had, he had his office, the surveyor had his office kind of beside his house.

Sometimes my dad would ask me to come down there with him to visit with him.

He had a, a kid that was about my age, and I was, I was about 11 years old, and the, the surveyor's, uh, son was, uh, probably about nine years old.

He was actually a couple years younger than me.

But he was...

You know, my dad would take me down there and we would play.

We were playing and he looked up at me and said

Chewbacca man lives down that trail.

Chewbacca man lives down that trail.

Chewbacca man.

Down there.

He lives down there.

You wanna show me? Yeah.

I was a couple of years y- older than him, and I, I don't know if he was playing make believe.

I don't know what we were doing, but, you know, I said, "Yeah, show me, show me Chewbacca man." And we went a pretty good ways.

I was getting surprised.

We were getting far away from the house, and we got to this deadfall.

This is it.

This is where he is.

And he said, "I'll call him."

I'll call him.

Woo-hoo.
