Big Thicket National Preserve

I'm, I was in scouting.

A couple of years after this, this thing happened to me, our Scout troop got to go camp out in the Big Thicket.

There is the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, and somehow they arranged for us to, to camp out out there.

And, and, and we did, and we were around the campfire.

But one time he heard very clearly, feels good.

A recent report from the Big Thicket National Preserve, an area I've been to a bunch of times, came from a good friend of mine who I trust and just always has impeccable information.

He and a friend of his are out there at night, and he heard what sounded like three-part harmony female vocalizations.

He said it absolutely was a human voice, and it harmonized, and it did it for like 10, 15 seconds, and you could hear it very clearly.

I was filming an episode of a show for Animal Planet with my good friend now, Dr. Natalie Schmidt from Australia.

And we're in the woods in the Big Thicket National Preserve.

And she hears a wolf howl.

And she said, my God, it sounds like a wolf.

And check the schedule because they do have a lot of activities going on here during the year as well.

Then if you want to go a little further over towards East Texas, go to the Big Thicket Natural Preserve.

Now, you're really going to get out of the Houston traffic.

You're going to get into the East Texas forest because you get over near Coontz.

You want someplace to go, but you don't want to go too far, but spend the day and check the schedule because they do have a lot of activities going on here during the year as well.

Then if you want to go a little further over towards East Texas, go to the Big Thicket Natural Preserve.

Now, this is you're really going to get out of the Houston traffic.

You're going to get an East Texas forest because you get over near Coontz.

I can see that.

Another one that you and I are familiar with, the Big Thicket.

Yeah.

Yeah.

The Big Thicket is, of course, a thicket slash forest in eastern Texas that you and I and so many people from that area, you go through because it's a beautiful forested area and it covers most of east Texas.

There's a little train you can ride and it takes you through the forest.

I have a lot of good memories of doing that by myself.

So I wonder what it takes to go from a national forest to a national park too.
