Salaam Hanafi!

Let's go.

In the heart of the lyricist I was in a hurry to get there Thank you.

And that was Maryam Saleh.

I is Ausal.

Hi, Hanafi.

Hello again.

If you're just tuning in, I'm in the studio.

This is Salaam Radio.

I'm Marrishdi.

And I'm here with my friend Hanafi, who's from Alexandria, Egypt, and currently residing in Naam.

And also a photographer and a traveler

and a good friend.

So yeah, talking about Mariam Saleh, behind her music, we were saying she was one of the voices of the revolution.

And that's amazing that you've actually seen her play live so many times.

Yeah, and I guess the tracks that are coming up are about the revolution in a way? Yes,

exactly.

So yeah, I think the revolution was such a pivotal moment.

In music? When it comes to everything, but especially in music as well.

Because all the music before the revolution used to be pop, love songs.

And that changed a lot with the revolution, where all these underground bands, rock bands, rap, all of these bands, they start coming up.

I mean, they were always there, but they had such a limited fan base.

But I think with the revolution, people started exploring more.

And all these voices got like a chance or like a bigger play field to just show their talents and show their music.

During the time of the revolution, I think one of the most prominent bands were Scandrella.

Nice name.
