Walt and Bill discuss more Sabres injuries, predicitons, what's more likely, and much more! Subscribe on YouTube: www.youtube.com/@SabremetrixPodcast
So with that said, Walt, Is there anything before we get into predictions? Is there anything that we wanted to talk about before what's more likely coming up this season? I think the only thing I really want to talk about is injuries, but is there anything before that that you wanted to mention with the Sabres season starting Thursday? Anything before?
Not really.
Not too much has changed.
They had a preseason game that... was probably the closest thing we'll get to like an actual NHL lineup for both teams.
Usually you get that the last preseason game and Sabres did not look good, but I won't read too much into that.
So I guess, yeah, at the end of the day, it's still just preseason, but it definitely wasn't a game that kind of instills confidence heading into the season opener because that game felt so much like, the season opener last season, the season opener in Czechia against New Jersey, the season opener before that against the Rangers once again, where it's just like nothing's going their way on offense.
And then defensively, there's just those lapses that the other team kind of makes you pay for.
And they just have to try to avoid playing that type of hockey right out the gate to start this season.
A slow start can really put you behind the eight ball.
And again, we've said it before, we'll say it again.
Last season, they pushed it to the absolute max.
They had to go on an incredible run.
Hopefully that doesn't happen again.
And yeah, the one thing that's really concerning is the injuries.
Right now, you've got Luke Yell, Lyon dealing with something, Samuelson, Zellweger sounds like he'll be back, but Samuelson will be missing the
opener.
Timmons is
on IR, too, somehow.
I didn't expect to see that.
Timmons is down.
What else do we have here? Connor Sherry.
That is day-to-day, but I don't exactly know.
This is off Puckpedia, and this isn't exactly up-to-date.
