Um, news emerged this afternoon that Celtic have been, in quotations, "running the rule" over for- former Chelsea midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko.

It follows on from reported interest which came back in the January window of this year.

Well, it's not quite done yet, and there's still a pretty decent chance Celtic will move for Tiemoué Bakayoko, uh, right now, as he's a free agent.

And we'll come on to the very little pros and very many cons of that in a moment.

This was the story that, that came out this afternoon via Anthony Joseph of Sky and James Green as well, who is a, a UK journalist.

Uh, Celtic have been running the rule over former Chelsea and AC Milan defensive midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko during the international break.

It's understood that the 32-year-old has been training with the Scottish champions over the last couple of weeks.

Held talks with Celtic in February, but of course, Celtic decided to opt for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain instead.

So it has been confirmed that Celtic, uh, of course, made that contact in February.

That was well established at the time anyway, but it's also been clarified over the last couple of weeks following rumors that were circulating on WhatsApp and the forums alike that Tiemoué Bakayoko has indeed been training with Celtic.

And not to sound a bit like that US political commentator, Tucker- Tucker Carlson, what are we doing? Do we want this? I don't.

But what are we actually doing? Tiemoué Bakayoko training with the club doesn't necessarily mean he's a shoo-in to sign for Celtic any time soon, but it certainly means Celtic are genuinely considering it.

You don't let him rock up at age 32 after leaving Palq well over a year ago for no reason.

Why? Just complete desperation? Is that where we are? Are we stuck in the year 2020? What is going on at Celtic Football Club? Just to make it clear as well, I have no problem with players who might be down on their luck looking for a club, uh, coming along if they know someone to get some fitness in them, to get minutes in the legs.

It's because Celtic are having a closer look and, as Anthony Joseph has said, running the rule, um, with, with a clear interest, I would imagine, to maybe bring him in as a midfield reinforcement.
