Now, preparations are underway here for some time, but some have raised questions about Ireland's capacity to maintain safety and security during the presidency.
So how are we fixed? How will Ireland's defence and security weak points be overcome over the next six months or so? Well, before coming on air, I spoke with the chair of the EU Military Committee, General Sean Clancy, and I asked him first about the threat of a possible significant attack or offensive and how prepared we are for it.
