Sinn Féin is not impressed.

MEP Lynne Boylan says the proposal amounts to a series of workarounds when what's needed is a halt to data centre expansion.

full disclosure, I've known Lynne Boylan for a long time.

I know she's a dedicated environmentalist and someone who takes climate seriously.

She's a member of a party that nearly lost its life over fox hunting.

And I think that upset a lot of the people who are all for the spending side of it.

But what concerns me, and I don't, and again, it's a different conversation, we may, but is that obviously, you know, I spoke to both Luke Ming Flanagan and Lynn Boylan over the last couple of weeks on this podcast, and Some of the things, unfortunately and sadly, that they've said that they managed to do in the last term of the European Parliament was slow the decline, you know, because the rollback of what was, we were told, a Green New Deal very much became an agenda for rearm Europe.

And that was the, but it was funny, actually, it was Konstantin Gurdjieff on this podcast only a few days ago, who, when I said to him about military spending, he said, no, we don't need to spend more money on military.

We, you know, we should be, He said Ireland should be investing in biodiversity.

Sure, very quickly on the CRU, I think it's, it's only fair on this podcast to actually say, um, that, uh, some of the information that we know about how the CR- CRU now operates is because of the work that's been done in the European Parliament by Lynn Boylan, who have asking questions about domestically.

And it's just, it's just fair to reference the people who actually have been pl- prodding at this and working at this in the background, because we often, we don't hear enough about, you know, uh, they all say, "Oh, they go off to Brussels and they disappear," but, you know- That's not always the case, that this is people...

It's not, in fact, it's not the case at all.

But sure, but it's not, but, but from an RT point of view and a media point of view, right? And, and I know this from being in the media, it wasn't even entertaining, because you had basically seven people in RT at the Dublin EU elections on RT-[smacks lips] Who all kind of agreed with each other because they were all lefties.

So, you'd Aodhan O'Riordain and Brid Smith and, um, Lynn Boylan and, uh, uh, y- Barry Andrews and Regina Doherty, and they all essentially just agreed with each other.

So, you had a half an hour of people more or less saying, giving the same answers to the same questions.

You had nobody in there to, from an entertainment point of view, who's gonna stir the pot and get a bit of a debate going.
