After parting ways with Azul, Edge returns to his camp to find everyone's favorite character, Pete, waiting for him.
Pete, of course, was spying on Edge with his ancient technology thing and came here after him.
He asks if Edge was able to get to the tower, which he wasn't, but Pete says he found a way to fly to the tower.
The fog that is preventing access to the tower is being produced by an ancient ship called Melkava.
Pete doesn't know where Melkava is, but he says they surely will find some records in the Holy District of Zoa, which will provide the exact information we need.
Pete also asks Edge if he can ride on the dragon, and Edge says no.
When Edge gets to Zoa, there are Imperial soldiers stomping around.
He hides until they leave, then runs into some random guy who says he was told to give Edge a pass to the Holy District.
Apparently, Pete's father, Vaman, is a big shot in the Holy District and wants to have a word with Edge.
Also, just from some NPC dialogue I saw while skipping through the long play to take notes, I think the guy... uh who gives you the pass is the night time uh door gatekeeper gatekeeper is the word i'm looking for the the gatekeeper works the night shift uh so it makes sense for him to be the person that someone tells hey get this to someone because he's gonna see everyone so i was like oh okay this isn't just literally some random guy that
makes sense i thought it was just some random guy
Yeah, I mean, I certainly thought so too, but I'm pretty sure it makes sense, actually.
Yeah.
The residents of the Holy District hate seeing an outsider like Edge wandering around, but if we talk to them, we might hear that Vaemon prophesied that a dragon would appear and save them from the Empire.
Edge finds his way to Vaemon's house and runs into Pete, who warns him not to trust Vaemon, what with him being a politician and all.
Pete leaves, and Edge heads inside so that he can trust Vaemon.
Vaemon explains that the Empire has been hassling the town, and most of the folks in charge want to capitulate.
But Vaemon learned about Edge's dragon from Pete, and also that Edge is interested in the ancient ruins.
So, Vaemon says that if Edge does a big open-air dungeon and lots of lengthy fights, he'll share all the village's records regarding the ruins.
Edge is like, sure, I love fighting the Empire.
Vaemon laughs in a just-according-to-Kekaku kind of way, and Edge thinks nothing of it.
Vaemon tells Edge where the Imperial forces are stationed and sends him on his way.
So Edge heads to the Imperial outpost and starts blasting.
Eventually, the outpost launches a massive, crazy-looking missile rocket thing at Zoa, and we have to do a fight where we have to destroy it before it reaches its target.
But since we destroyed that, the Empire's going to give up on trying to destroy Zoa, and it's fine.
