They just need to understand, you know, this is what we need you to do, and, and here are three easy, easy things that you can do with your child at home.
Um, you know, and, and I love that you talked about both sides because I think for most parents, the I can read to my child comes very easily.
And, and I f- and I saw this a lot too when we made the shift and, you know, we had to have comment or, or conferences with parents, and they would say, "Well, what level is my child?" Right? And I think parents really held onto that because it was something so concrete that they could understand.
Same thing with the sight words, right? It was like, where are my stack of sight words? That's something I can do with my child.
Um, and so I think, you know, that, that piece of it is hard for parents too because we wanna make it as concrete as possible, but we also want it to mirror what we're doing in the classroom as well.
And it's so hard, and they're all coming at it from the right, you know, for the right reasons.
I wanna help, and this is something as, you know, a lawyer or, you know, they work in a store.
It's something I can do that I understand that I don't have to have the teacher hat on, so I get that.
Well, and, and speaking of that, I think sometimes there are some common misconceptions that parents have about helping their child read at home.
What, what have you seen, um, kinda wearing both hats that are, are common misconceptions for parents?
