I know.

It seems like...

I like what you said, that your songs are your diary, because...

There's something when things are very blatant, like, oh, you know, today I did this.

I went to the store.

I went to school.

That's just a record.

But if you look back at the songs and the music you wrote back then, that almost is a more potent record of how you actually felt back then.

You're right, Kelly, because I feel like it's sort of, it's not a record.

It's like a photograph of where you were in your mind at that time, right? It tells you a lot about who you were.

I mean, even today, this album is coming out today.

This album was, we completed recording it about two, almost two years ago now.

It just took a little while for us to get everything together to be able to publish it.

But

it feels,

yeah.

Well, I can

tell because it's so well crafted.

So when people think, oh, two years, well, that can fly by in the studio.

I mean, what's the kind of care you take when you craft a full album like this?

Yeah, so the album, we completed the album about two years ago.

The album took approximately, well, almost two years as well to...

Okay, so we completed the album maybe a year and a half ago, almost two years now.

And the album took about a year and a half to two years to put together.

And partly also because I did this part-time because I still have a day job, right? um but it did take a lot of work i mean at first um we we created a you know a pre-prod if you will for each of the songs so we by the time we started recording we knew exactly what we needed for each song we knew like what instrumentation what the arrangement was going to be um we wanted it to be very much an organic album and bring true musicianship into it.
