The flyaways are here and the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi gave brought both the Moto2 and MotoGP Championships closer than ever. Moto3 gave us an overdue winner - and the 2027 calendar dropped! All…
Starting as always with our news segment for the week.
And this time around, no silly season stuff to announce.
As we covered in the previous episode, our grid is now locked in for 2027 in MotoGP at this point.
But otherwise, we know all 22 riders for next year.
That said, we do have 2027 news once again because the calendar has been released for the 2027 championship, which I always get super excited about.
I cannot, of course, speak for everyone listening.
But I think in the various like puzzle pieces of putting together the kind of what to expect and what to experience in the 2027 campaign, knowing the calendar is, I think, a pretty important part of it.
And we've got some interesting stuff coming up this coming year.
I'm going to quickly kind of run through it here as a baseline.
Starting off, as we have the last couple of years in Thailand on 7th of March, followed immediately into a doubleheader in Qatar, which I have several things to say about the fact that we're racing in Qatar in March next year.
We're then going back to the Brazilian Grand Prix at the start of April into a doubleheader in Argentina with obviously the Buenos Aires track joining the calendar for the first time since the 90s, question mark, early 2000s, I think was the last time we raced at Buenos Aires.
Um, two weeks off and then we're racing at COTA.
Um, we're then at Le Mans a week later, then into Mugello, then a couple weeks off before we hit the Catalan Grand Prix.
Couple weeks off again to Assen.
Um, actually, sorry, is the German Grand Prix the other side of the break? No, it's not.
Sorry, I was just completely thrown by the dates being so far apart for a couple of these.
Uh, no, the German Grand Prix is in fact a double-header this year into Brno, which is our sensible, like, halfway point in the championship.
Uh, month off after Brno before we hit Silverstone, then two weeks later Spielberg in Austria.
Two weeks after that, uh, we're in San Marino, followed by Aragon, uh, and then Portimao has been moved forward notably from its previous position, uh, as one of the, the latter races of 2026.
Um, we then hit our Asian flyaway races and kind of same running order as the...
Actually, the, the running order has changed quite a bit.
I don't know what I'm talking about here.
