Once again I call to your attention Pope Pius XI calls devotion to the most sacred heart of Jesus the summary of all our religion.
Saint John Eudes teaches the following and he expresses it a little bit differently, but basically he's telling us the same thing that Pius XI teaches about devotion to the Sacred Heart being the summary of all our religion.
St. John Eudes teaches, quote, Consider that the adorable heart of Jesus is the principle and source of his incarnation, birth, circumcision, presentation in the temple, and of all the other mysteries and states of his life.
as well as of all his thoughts, words, deeds, and sufferings for our salvation.
His heart burning with love prompted him to perform all these for us.
Thus it is that we owe honor and love to this most amiable heart for countless reasons.

The heart of Jesus, that is, his infinite love, is the principle and the source of all the great mysteries of our Savior Jesus Christ.
His incarnation, his birth, his circumcision, his presentation in the temple, his passion and death on the cross.
it is also the source of all his thoughts, words, deeds, and sufferings for our salvation.
One of the very basic ways in which we can practice devotion to the Sacred Heart is precisely by considering these different mysteries of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by considering his thoughts, words, deeds and sufferings and making it a point to believe and appreciate more and more how all of these are expressions of the infinite love that is burning in his sacred heart.
