In this episode of the Rec Me podcast, We find out what each other's idea of mellowing out looks like. Did you find these albums relaxing? \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\** AJ's pick…
The theme we did for last week's episode was pump up albums and album to get you sort of up and about really high energy and we're going to bring you back down this week with our theme of chill out albums, something you can relax to that's not super high stimulation and just sort of a very, yeah, chill out vibe is what we've gone with.
Yeah.
So this week for a Chill Out album, I picked All Hail West Texas by The Mountain Goats for Jake.
The reason that I picked it as a Chill Out album is because it is very consistent.
It's all very, like all the songs are just acoustic.
It's also like lo-fi recorded.
I think he recorded this album on a tape recorder.
So it's got that kind of like crispy, crunchy, 90s feel.
And it's a little like Americana, Storybook, I guess is how I would put it and I just I was like listening to bedtime stories That's how I think of it as like relaxing It's like each each song is its own little story and they're a bit quirky and silly and that's why I put it under the Chill out fair enough
