Former Ranger and current hockey media legend Ray Ferraro joins the show to talk Rangers. What would he do if he was Chris Drury? Does it make sense for NYR to give up more assets to acquire a goalie?…
Um, yeah, you know, I was just looking up on clear sight, you know, the numbers were really good.
Obviously the six, three and one or six, two, six and two start, uh, which was a couple of games into the, into the, uh, the post just Durkin era.
And obviously kind of like Ray was saying, you know, you're on a high, the team wants to keep playing the way that it was playing and Dylan Garan had the adrenaline pumping, uh, But I think in this 1-5-1 slide they've been in, the pretty clear indication that the goaltending situation is obviously not helping, but this is making it a lot worse.
Uh, in these last seven games, Rangers are 30th in the league, uh, high danger chances against they've given up the second most behind only Pittsburgh at seven and a half.
Did it, did the, did the bad place start because just Durkin went out and like we were talking about with Ray, everybody's trying to do a little too much and you take yourself out of your structure.
Or did the goaltending kind of getting noticeably – you know, Garan was good and really kind of the apex for him was a game that they ended up losing, the overtime loss in Columbus where he was lights out, probably his best start of the season.
But obviously, you know, playing 10 games in a row, like Ray said, it's just not something even the elite goalies do, and Dylan Garan's not quite there yet.
So you're seeing a degradation of the team game – and obviously a goalie who's not able to save the team when they start to get out of their structure.
They just have to be able to get out of it because we have the evidence, we have the data, and we have our eyes to show us that they can play this way, even in front of Dylan Garand.
You know, I don't imagine Yunus Korpisalo is going to get back into either of these two home games before they head out to Western Canada.
