Well, before we get into, uh, how you keep busy today, I wanna go back in time and understand more about your higher education journey.

Where was that? What were you up to? And what was junior year Sally Bryant thinking about that led you to Washington State University?

St. John High School i- was a high school of, I think we had a total of 83 people in the four-year high school.

So this is a very, very small farming town in Eastern Washington, about an hour from Pullman, so an hour from Washington State.

If you look at the Washington State alumni list, my maiden name is Deschaine, and you will see the longest list of Deschaines of probably any university, um, at least in this country.

I mean, they were farmers, but they both had bachelor's degrees from Washington State as well.

Did not know what I wanted to do, but always knew that I loved a challenge, I loved being productive, and I thought I'd just go kind of explore what, what that might turn out to be for me, um, at WSU, and it was, yeah, it was amazing.

So you had, uh, some real perspective going there given that you'd kind of grown up in a, in a Wash U family.

And, uh, tell me about when you reflect on your four years there, favorite memories, what stands out.

One is I was part of the honors program, which is now the honors college, and that was really my, what I considered my home.

So the great thing about that was is I got to s- be in very small groups with people that are in all different majors.

So usually you spend a lot of time with people in your own major, and I think that was a really interesting experience because I spent a lot of time at the honors center where we all just kind of hung out and got to know each other from all different majors.

And I think understanding more than just what I was studying was, um, really a rich experience and helped me understand that different perspectives and different ideas are so important.

The other thing that m- truly shaped my journey and started me on the path to advancement and then to where I am today is my last semester of college, Brent, I had a little bit different experience than most people.
