Another irregular trader, Captain Wollaston, with some thirty or forty people, chiefly servants, established himself in sixteen twenty-five, two miles north of Wassagusset, calling the place Mount Wollaston.

The Pilgrims felt that the coming of such adventurers and scoffers, who were none too scrupulous in their dealings with either white man or Indian and were given to practices which the Puritans heartily abhorred, was a calamity showing that even in the wilds of America they could not escape the world from which they were anxious to withdraw.

The settlements formed by these squatters and stragglers were quite unauthorized by the New England Council, which owned the title to the soil.

Mason had received grants from the council both individually and in partnership with Gorges and had visited New England in the interest of his claims.

Through the influence of Gorges he was now made a member of the council and joined in the movement to break the hold of the Puritans upon New England.

He and Gorges found useful allies in three men who had been driven out of Massachusetts by the Puritan leaders soon after their arrival at Boston, Thomas Morton of Marymount, Sir Christopher Gardner, a picturesque, somewhat mysterious personage thought to have been an agent of Gorges in New England with methods and morals that gave offense to Massachusetts, and Philip Ratcliffe, a much less worthy character given to scandal and invective who had been deprived of his ears by the Puritan authorities.

These men were bitter in their denunciation of the Puritan government.

So, yeah, trips to Delaware or to the Outer Banks.

What up, North Carolina? What's up? All in all, Lauren and Eugene were together for about four years, but they broke up when Lauren was a sophomore at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

Eugene went to the University of Maryland before moving to New York.

So they just drifted apart, went their separate ways.

Lauren graduated from Marymount University in 1999 with a degree in interior design.

Even though she was out on her own and living in her own apartment, I believe at this point she was in Silver Spring in her own apartment, she and her parents remained close and would meet up in D.C. to go to museums.

I guess I went to college in Lafayette at UL, and then I went to New Orleans for my graduate program.

And then I got my post-professional doctorate at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

Cool.

So just to kind of tell everybody a little bit of our background, kind of how we connected.

Ginger specializes in adolescence and adult mental health, crisis intervention, and sports psychology.

She earned her doctorate from the American School of Professional Psychology and holds a master's degree from Marymount University.

She was also an athlete herself and the mother of student athletes.

And her partner in crime is Dr. Brenna Chirby.

23-year-old Malachi Rawlings faces a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 30-year-old Jasmine Malone, whose body was found in southeast Washington in May.

Rawlings was arrested in Ballston on New Year's Day last year after what police called a firefight in the elevator lobby at Marymount University's Placemaker building.

He initially faced six felony charges, but pleaded guilty to two and avoided prison time under a deferred adjudication.
