I Regret Reading This Colleen Hoover Book

Hey everyone and welcome back to a new video! I hope you're okay with just voiceover me today just because it's a little easier for me at the moment and I'm gonna be popping some gameplay footage just for you to watch if you like having it on in the background if you don't like it then that's okay you can just listen today I was recently editing a video for Alizi in which she read an article saying that Colleen Hoover's novel Regretting You is being made into a film and she read out the cast list and whatever, they're all people I'd never heard of, but of course that meant I had to go and read the book Regretting You for myself and review it for you guys.

I've had this downloaded for a while, ever since I saw it make some top 10 worst books ever written list a while back.

So I was very intrigued by it and I can honestly say that I thoroughly regret ever having read this book.

not great really really bad this book is a little different in that it's even darker than a lot of colleen hoover's regular books that are just marketed as romance um and that is really saying something considering the fact we've seen her in the past romanticize cheating child grooming surviving childhood sa murder domestic violence and so much more this one actually isn't that dark in terms of themes it does have a lot of cheating going on and it has so much death in it it's just oh god all the characters die Everyone dies.

This book, Regretting You, follows Morgan, a middle-aged mum, and her daughter Clara, and each chapter flips back and forth between the two perspectives.

Morgan got pregnant and married way too young, at like 16, 17, something like that, which is literally every woman in a Colleen Hoover book, to be honest.

But apparently this time it's different because she is, and I quote, determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did.

So I assumed the daughter would end up having a teen pregnancy by the end of the book and that would be her happy ending or something, but thankfully she doesn't.

There is at least one womb left untouched.

Thank god.

But because this book is very boring and quite dark in places, I thought I'd come up with a way that we could have a little bit of fun with it.

And about a year ago, when I reviewed a couple of Colleen Hoover's books in the Slammed series, I came up with a big list of tropes that appear in nearly every single one of Colleen Hoover's books.

I was going to make them into bingo cards, but I'm a procrastinator, apparently.

I'm completely a procrastinator.

And instead, I've just got it as a big checklist.

These are the ones we're going to be checking off and seeing if they come up in the book, where they come up in the book, chatting about them a little bit, and I thought that would be quite fun.
