But the way you learn how to do those things, right, is by just going to these garage sales.
Like you start developing your
niche
and
you
start
niching down.
Are you back with us? Yeah, I don't think I dropped out.
I might have just been on your side.
It looked good on mine.
But anyways, I'm glad you can hear me now.
So what I was saying was you were going really quick.
You would jump out of the car.
You could make a quick lap around, and you kind of had an eye.
You knew what to look for.
if you didn't see anything that was valuable you jumped right back in your car and you were ready to go whereas i it's like everything is brand new to me so whereas you already had all this experience i really didn't have any i didn't know where to start and so i was spending a little bit longer and for some of these garage sales it was like neighbors like you can get four or five and you'd be like three or four houses ahead of me you didn't jump back in your car you're just walking to the next ones and i'm still at the first one picking up an item looking it up on ebay because you showed me how to do sold comps Well, that's kind of how the story worked out of how I found the duck decoys.
And I found out a few other things as well.
And that's because you knew what to look for, but you still kind of missed some things.
And my being naive and just having no knowledge actually in some ways was beneficial.
Being willing to learn while I was at the garage sale and look things up.
Yeah.
And so I want to say, first of all, like if you want to learn about what to pick up, I think garage sales are great.
we'll go to thrift stores but i think they're better than thrift stores because they're not curated right they're not like things aren't set up in a way where you're you're trying to figure out like okay is everything here like no it's just basically unless somebody took the time to like you know separate things out and sometimes you do go to garage sales like you're just getting like a whole collection of something, right? So you have the ability to like, let's say there's somebody's Harley collection or video game collection or board game collection or whatever it is.
Like garage shows allow you to do that because usually when people are collectors,
they have all that stuff.
