I'm curious, when you talk to students today, what are some of the misconceptions they have about careers in woodworking and the cabinet industry in particular?
Our country's done a pretty poor job about preparing students for education in the trades.
We've been cutting programs, trade programs since the, the early '80s really, and telling students to head off to college because that's where the future lie.
And then whether that was parents or there were guidance counselors, teachers, they encouraged kids to prepare for the future, and the future was computers.
And what we've found today is that the students really don't know what we do in the industry.
Not only they don't have an awareness, but their parents don't have an awareness.
And so we're just not on the table as an option these days, and I think that's led to where we are today.
