Kwadwo KyeremantengHostJust wanted to jump on a quick podcast the day after having our book launch on the opportunities in healthcare.
And it was an evening that was extremely inspiring and left me with this positive outlook on, on how we could solve this healthcare problem.
Where we look at our healthcare system, and to be honest with you, I've never seen it as bad as it is, but I see the light.
I see the light at the end of the tunnel where if we have motivation, if we have a sense of urgency, and if we take ownership on what we could do now to improve the healthcare system, I know it's gonna make a difference.
So within our own selves, having that personal agency to, to, to take care of our metabolic health, to be on our best form, thinking about how we eat, how we move our body, press method individually so that we are less reliant on tertiary care, on being an inpatient in the hospital.
The tools that are gonna avoid seeing someone like myself in an intensive care unit.
But any but-- any one of us that is touching healthcare, we, we have something within our grasp.
So if you are in a remote community and you need that e-- level of expertise, we can provide you with that guidance that will either keep you in on-- in the spot that you, you want to be or could be, or bring you in closer to, or to the ICU at, uh, in Ottawa so that we could take better care of you.
That's with that lens of what can we do now to improve our current status? Same thing with the Ottawa Hospital.
We- we're making this new campus, new civic campus, but it's, it's not just about the building, it's about reshaping healthcare.
How do we expand our reach? How do we have a more coordinated effort so patients and families get those-- the care that they n- that they need and that they deserve? If you are...
If you are a, a large corporation, what incentives, what protection are you providing for your staff for them to live that healthier existence? Are they getting access to, to, to, um, to fitness classes, to, to, uh, high quality food, minimizing ultra-processed food? Like anything that we could do at scale can make a massive difference.
I wanna give a shout out to a, a, a friend of mine, R- Riza, that was at the book launch.
He is a CrossFitter, has his own gym, but one of the things that really landed with me is he's passionate about how we feed our kids.
