Ready to take Disney all the way to mainland China? This week on Play It By Ears, we’re heading to Shanghai Disneyland and breaking down everything you need to know before making the trip. From the…
So let's start with, is it worth it? So my take on it is I'm very glad I went, but it'll probably be a long time before I go back.
I don't know that I would be super interested in making a trip, another trip to Shanghai and the park.
It's just one park.
It has some unique stuff you can't do anywhere else.
That's really cool.
But it's not enough to make me like plan a trip for the point of going back to Disney.
What do you think?
Yeah, I would agree.
I was thinking about this question and I feel like the majority of foreigners that go to Shanghai Disneyland are, one, if they live on that side of the world, so it's just easier.
If you live in Australia or things, it's easier to get there.
Two, if you've gone to every other Disneyland in the entire world and you're just completing it, kind of like what we do is check the box.
Or you're already going to mainland China for like Beijing and the Great Wall of China, and you're already in China to do things.
I could see you tacking on Shanghai.
The thing is, though, even if you go to Beijing, you're still taking a flight or a high-speed train to Shanghai.
It's not that close.
So it still requires some transportation to get there.
So I wouldn't even be surprised if not everyone that goes to Beijing would even add this to their trip, just because it still requires some effort.
So I don't see a lot of...
A lot of people going here.
I don't think it would make sense to make a full trip coming
here
because like you said, there are unique attractions and it's the newest park for Disney.
So a lot of the rides are updated and have the latest technology.
And I really appreciate that.
But even though it is easier to get and do than we thought it was, it still takes a little bit of effort.
