On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn discusses Saturday night's overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans, sharing his thoughts on Denver's slow start, boos from Ball Arena…
Denver wins 141 to 135 in overtime in this game that they just played on Saturday.
New Orleans scored 38 points in the first quarter, 35 points in the second quarter, 35 points in the third quarter, and then in the fourth, they scored 18.
New Orleans got some points in overtime, but not quite enough to keep up with the Nuggets who scored 15 points in overtime, which is a large number.
They scored 24 points in the first quarter, 33 in the second, 32 in the third, and then 37 in the fourth while holding New Orleans to 18.
But what that yielded, kind of that inverse relationship there, was New Orleans getting up big.
They got up 23 points, and throughout the second half, specifically going into the second half or into the halftime and then coming out in the third quarter, middle of the third.
Nuggets got booed a lot for perceived poor efforts, for... lack of execution for struggling with a team like New Orleans, who's now 0-3.
I think New Orleans is probably better than the fan base is giving them credit for.
And the fact that Denver was struggling with them this year, especially after the way that the playoffs went and things, you can understand the frustration.
I will talk about the actual booing and the relationships there in the second segment.
