How to write, set and achieve your goals #265

The first story we'll be looking at is Femi Ogundime.

For context, Femi Ogundime is one of the f- founding partners of Cardinal Stone.

Cardinal Stone is one of the fastest growing investment banks in Nigeria with over 300 million-plus assets under management, AUM.

So when they started Cardinal Stone, I'd read a book by Yomi Jemi-Biwon.

I'd reviewed that book in this Playbook.

Yomi wanted to raise, I think, $250 million to start a bank or something.

Then he and his friend started talking, which is Femi Ogundime.

And Femi said, "You know what? We're gonna raise $3 billion." See, may God bless you with friends that turn your ceiling, right, into a floor.

So they came together and they started this bank.

There were other, uh, uh, founders of it.

I think there were three of them.

The founders of Cardinal Stone are, I want to get it right, Femi Ogundime, Yomi Jemi-Biwon, Mohammed Garuba, and Michael N- Nzewi.

Now, unbeknown to Yomi, Femi, when he was in the university in Nigeria, Femi went, Femi went to university in Nigeria, worked at Goldman Sachs, went to Wharton.

He wrote down a 30-year plan for his life, 30-year goal for his life, and one of those 30-year goal was that he was going to either acquire a bank or start his own bank.

That was his long-term vision.

Think about it.

He didn't write a one-year goal.

He wrote a 30-year goal for himself.

This is interesting.

Some people don't even have a three-day goal for their lives.

Some people don't even have a three-hour goal for their lives.

This guy wrote a 30-year goal for their life, and today they are living in the manifestation of the goal that they wrote down.

I tell people all the time that if you can write it down, you can invite it in.

There is a magical, there is a power that I can't explain behind writing down a goal.
