So I'm gonna give you some principles to apply when it comes to encouraging others.

Jonathan didn't tell David, "David, you need to be strong, and you need to make sure that you get to the other side." No.

"Jonathan went to find David and encouraged him to stay strong in his faith in God." You know, I see a lot of high points in people's lives being a pastor, but I also see a lot of low points.

And one of the reason I don't, reasons that I don't want to do pastoral care anymore is because I'm tired of seeing all the hurt.

When people lose loved ones or calamities happen, there's really nothing in the world that can comfort them with the exception of God.

To tell you the truth, I don't know how people live in this sinful world without God.

When my three-year-old nephew died on the operating table, there was only one verse that gave me great comfort.

And he was born not with just a hole in his heart, but several holes in his heart.

And so he was having operation after operation up to the time he was three years old, and he went in to have another operation, and a child had died, and they had the ability to give him a heart transplant.
