Katie HinsonGuestWe're gonna talk about losing ourselves in motherhood, okay? [laughs] Today's episode is called I Feel Like I'm Losing Myself in Motherhood, so we're gonna talk about finding our identity in Jesus as moms when motherhood changes everything.
And, you know, I, I'm so excited about our segment, the Messy Mom Moment segment, because I have my bosom friend on today.
Have you ever seen Anne of Green Gables? You know how Anne finds Diana Barry and they are kindred spirits, as she says, and so she calls Diana her bosom friend.
So Katie and I, Katie Hinson and I, have been bosom friends for a long time.
And I actually, I sent her a list of ideas a couple months ago and said, "Which one do you wanna share your wisdom on?" And this was the one she picked, so I'm really excited.
I got to talk to her, and I'm excited about what she shared because she actually shared two messy mom moments of when she felt this.
And one of them, I'm not gonna steal from what she shared, it was so beautiful, one of them was when her kids were really little, and one of them is now as she's launching adults into the world.
So wherever you are in your mothering journey, I think that you will get just...
It's just such a gift to hear Katie talk about how Jesus has met her in this struggle.
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, "Who am I? [laughs] I don't even know who I am anymore"? Motherhood can do that to you.
I, I feel this 'cause I have an almost two-year-old, but I really feel it watching my little baby sister.
You know, it's such a dramatic jump when you go from just being a person in the world to being a person who's caring for this little baby, um, every single second of every day, day and night.
Um, and it's easy to just kind of lose yourself, and it's not because you aren't excited to be a mom.
