In this live Thursday night teaching, Pastor Mark unpacks walking in these days in Christ centered recovery as we encounter the lost, the dead, and the prodigals coming home in these days. At the…
Um, [lips smack] and, and, and we always wanna stay in the Word, but something that hit, um, actually this morning, and usually when I don't know what the Lord's gonna do, that's probably the best thing, because that's when he does what he wants to do, not my agenda of, oh, let's do these five points in a closing statement or whatever that looks like.
So here's what he put on my heart and, um, [lips smack] uh, there, there are times, uh, when he shares stuff with me, and like he does with many of you.
Imagine, uh, you are on a, a search and rescue team, and you are, are in a mountainous region or a desert mountainous region.
And the thing that the Lord showed me is, uh, there, there's two different operations but one mission.
The operation, uh, is to, uh, s- find the lost, to reach the lost for eternal life.
If you've ever heard of a search and rescue or been a part of it, um, when they make an announcement, "We have somebody who's been lost, they're missing, um, we are sending out search teams." Okay? So what they're doing, they're seeking to identify that person who is lost, and that person who is lost is hoping and praying to be found.
The narrative changes when they say, um, "We have shifted into a recovery operation." Now, I'm not talking about recovery in addiction.
I'm talking about where, uh, they have identified those who are, are dead, and they're going to recover the individuals.
So you have a, uh, a search with the idea on one hand, we want to rescue those who are possibly lost, confused, uh, wounded, injured.
We don't know what their status is, so we are searching out to find them so that we then can bring them to a place of safety.
And again, a recovery, and now I'm gonna pull a twist on this from the Word, because even though it sounds a little grave, there's something pretty awesome about that, is this: all of us at one point were dead in our trespasses and sins.
In Christ-centered addiction recovery, the heart of the Father is always to search the hearts of those who are seeking him, because he says, "If you seek me with all your heart, I will be found of you." There are people that, testimonies over and over of people saying, "Look, I, I can't do the mystic galactic thing over here.
I gotta know." And so many times, that interaction has nothing to do with biblical knowledge.
Um, what's going on, I don't know if you know it, one of the As, as many of you know, one of the fastest, uh, growing religions in, in the United States, uh, is Islam, okay? Amongst syncretism and witchcraft.
But what's happening is the Holy Spirit is causing, uh, many of these people to have dreams where He is literally speaking to them in their dreams saying, "I am the way, the truth, the life.
