Send us Fan Mail Episode 17 is here. And this one really got me thinking about the difference between having faith and actually letting your faith…
Preston PooreHostI think that's maybe one of the most dangerous things that we could do is, uh, to be really outwardly vocal about wearing a Christian label, uh, and then looking nothing like Christ in our interactions with people.

Not because I started talking about Jesus in meetings, but because I started treating people like they mattered more than the metrics.

Both walked, and when the second one left, my boss looked at me and said, "Preston, what's going on?" And I didn't have a good answer, because the honest one would have sounded like this.

I've been so focused on delivering results that I forgot that I was leading people.

I've been running hard, hitting targets, climbing, and somewhere along the way, I stopped asking how I was showing up and just kept asking about what I was producing.

Not because I was doing anything wrong, because I wasn't doing anything different.

One showed up on Sunday, the other showed up on Monday, and neither one knew that the other existed.

If you've ever called yourself a person of faith, but led like it didn't matter, Sunday and Monday, two different people, this one's for you.

I spent 30 years in corporate leadership making every mistake in the book, some of them twice.

I'm Preston Poor, and if you're a leader who's ever felt in over your head but too proud to say it, you're in the right place.
