It is not uncommon for us to see farms where 20% of the sheep have some level of lameness.
we're not necessarily talking about sheep now that are carrying a foot or kneeling down.
We're talking about any sheep that has an unusual gait as a result of an injury or infection on its foot.
Generally, if you run a batch of sheep, the last 15 or 20 that aren't able to keep up, they're lame.
Lameness reduces performance because it causes pain, it prevents them from foraging, they spend more time lying down, all of those types of things.
