Marcius and producer Vish are live from New York City, Climate Week 2026. Thousands of people from around the world have descended on the city that never sleeps to talk environmental justice, energy…
New York Climate Week sounds like a big climate conference, but really what it is, as you know, is... hundreds actually maybe over a thousand different small events that are all just listed as part of your climate week they happen here at the same time but they're sometimes disconnected from each other big businesses are having meetings small businesses community groups academics policy work uh it's a disjointed soup of all kinds of different events like how would you describe it if you're to someone who's never been here or doesn't know anything about this
I remember you described it in our first episode with Ashley as New York Week is like Fashion Week.
I think you said it right.
There's just a ton of different events and about so many different topics.
I think a few years ago, they tried to divide it into different groups like energy, water, infrastructure.
Structure.
Different days sometimes.
But truly there's like so many different types of events that happen.
When someone was asking me today, like what is your advice for someone who's going to the first time of week? And I was saying each day choose like a different topic to go like find events on.
Because if you go to the same type of events, you will get the same information.
But if you go to a different type of event each day, you're going to get like a really broad diversity.
Well, we're going to get into some of the events we were at today and what we think is relevant about them and share with you all.
So real quick, just like, you know, the senators and congresspeople or parliamentarians, they're not actually in the chamber all the time.
The UN is not full of international dignitaries all the time, but they open the assembly every September this week.
But the point is the dignitaries all show up for the opening, which means New York is also full of black SUVs carrying dignitaries from around the world, all over the town.
