And we were a little skeptical of it, frankly, but we agreed to listen, and I think over the period of time in which the ethics board was operating and operating well, everybody felt that good work was being done.

Good work like convincing Axon not to put facial recognition software in its police body cams, 'cause it just had too many issues.

I went to NYU for undergrad, did theater and English as a double major, was a theater girl, absolutely loved, loved, loved, loved, loved theater my entire life, went on to become an actor, did Broadway national tours.

Did some TV, then kind of simultaneously became a trainer, was an amateur boxer.

Boxing was kind of my main modality and focus.

audacity that brings people to New York City in their early 20s to go to college there.

It's either like you were either born in New York City or you have even worse the audacity of an NYU student.

And those you lose all social decorum as an NYU student.

You'll ask for unlimited favors.

You will walk yourself into any room with a sense of entitlement.

And I'm like, I can't deliver.

It's crazy.

Why do you think they're in like, in glee, they are like hell bent and going to NYU?

Way is a developmental psychologist and professor at NYU who has spent nearly four decades studying the social and emotional development of children and adolescents with a particular focus on friendships, relationships, and human connection.

She's the author of several books, including Deep Secrets and Rebels with a Cause.

And her newest book explores our social nature and what happens when we grow up in a culture that doesn't always support it.

The entire organization became a unit for war work.

And my mom went back to undergrad when I was in high school, and she got her undergraduate in social work at King College in New Jersey.

And then she went to NYU to get her master's in social work.

So I have a 50 plus year old woman as a teenager into my 20s.

Becoming self-aware for the first time in her 40s into her 50s, then become a clinical psychotherapist and doing a lot of work with lots of people.

That was never like great to hear.

I'd be like, no, like I can like perform comedy or produce comedy and I can like do comic books.

And for years, so I went to NYU's dramatic writing program for college.

And then while there, uh, Did an internship that then led to a PA job, which led to eight years of working at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which was kind of going right in that comedy vein.

It was something I really absolutely loved.
