Robert D. Bullard

environmental justice.

American environmental justice activist Dr. Robert Bullard defines environmental justice as the principle that all people and communities are entitled to equal protection of environmental and public health laws and regulations.

In short, the environmental justice movement calls for us to address our shared history of racism, exploitation, and segregation to create an environment that's healthy for everyone.

And just to be clear, this means improving environments everywhere.

And it was really cool to see this legacy of environmental justice that's been kind of passed down throughout generations of black and brown people in the US.

And so Dr. Robert Bullard and Dr. Beverly Wright Both, I think, in the late 70s, started working on environmental justice, which I don't even know if was actually a discipline then.

I think they might have created that discipline.

I think they might have, too.
