Q&A: Puppy Food, Allergies & Myths

The first question is from a John F. I need to find the best kind of food for a large breed puppy, something he can eat as he grows up.

Okay.

Well, when he says large breed puppy, lots of times, you know, we may put those dogs on large breed puppy food.

In other words, that has a little less fat.

Yeah.

And they grow a little slower.

And I think that's probably the one thing I look at on large breed puppy foods is the You don't want, you know, so much of this, you know, years ago was like, how heavy could you get a little horse to be? How heavy could you get a dog to be, you know, as a puppy? And they get too fat and they start to have, you know, joint problems just because they're They're growing too fast.

So I think that's the one thing that we kind of worry about a little bit with some of these pets.

Currently, I mean, the dog food that I most generally promote to our dog-owning public is, for puppies, would be our chicken and corn diet.

It's not a puppy food because it does not have enough copper.

Yeah.

We're trying to work on a puppy food, aren't we? Yeah,

we're working on a puppy food.

We've got a recipe and everything.

That'll probably be available.

Next year? Yeah, probably maybe even later this year.

But anyway, so that's kind of where we're at right there with that.

And you really don't feed a chihuahua in a great day in the same way.

And I think that's what everybody kind of already understands.

But that's the only really condition.

We have enough calcium.

We have enough phosphorus.
