Hour 3: Newell LIVE from BOO AT THE ZOO at Audubon Zoo! (12PM Hour)

SpongeBob SquarePants in for Newell Normand this morning, and I have to imagine this is the first time that Chris Blair, the voice of the Fighting Tigers, has been interviewed by SpongeBob SquarePants.

Chris, welcome to the show.

Yes, it is a, uh, career highlight now.

[laughs]

I did not expect that.

[laughs] Always something special for you, Chris.

We're still waiting for something special by the LSU Fighting Tigers, though.

[laughs]

Yeah, I would agree with you.

I think the theme this week, Newell, and I've said it a couple of times to friends, coworkers, and, and even other media members, you know, there's two losses on the year.

Both are on the road.

LSU's unbeaten at home.

They played well at home, struggled out on the road.

But, you know, I keep hearing everybody saying, "Well, it was Ole Miss' Super Bowl in week number three." Last week, the Wildcat fans stormed the field, and everybody came away from it and said, "Oh, well, you know, we gotta realize that was Kentucky's Super Bowl." Well, we're half, we're past the halfway point of the regular season.

I, I would recommend to LSU that the rest of these games starting tomorrow morning against Mississippi State needs to be their Super Bowl.

They need to have a sense of urgency.

Gotta find some more consistency.

I feel good about the Tigers playing at home, although let's give Mississippi State credit.

They're ranked 16th in the country, ahead of the Tigers ranked 22nd this week.

Um, both teams not sure exactly who's gonna be able to go for Mississippi State.

They've got some really key injuries in a similar way, the way LSU does.

Uh, you know, everybody's got injuries, but, you know, there's a question mark about Kamario Taylor, the talented quarterback, and obviously Fluff Bockwhel, who is their leading running back.

So we'll see who gets on the field.

But regardless of who the Tigers play tomorrow from a personnel situation, Newell, I'm with you.

I, I think the sense of urgency has to be lifted up another level or two.
