Um, I did a monologue yesterday, and I did a monologue the day before yesterday about this definition of an open court, and you know why I'm talking about it.

They interviewed some legal experts from, uh, the writer from NOLA.com, and his name escapes me, and I apologize to him because I thought it was a very well-written article.

Um, you know, and some legal experts, they were pretty much all on board as saying open court means it's open to the public, and that the way that we return a grand jury indictment, uh, should be in that, in that fashion.

I have been very critical of pretty much everybody to say we don't conduct ourselves as a system.

When we allow judges on a whim without any evidence, without this, without that, to make up their own rules as they go along, to interpret these, these laws in such a way that are completely contrary from the mainstream, we're not a system and that we should be embarrassed by this, that in 2026 we do not have a clear understanding of what the meaning of open court is.
I mean, uh, you know, I don't think you need to be a legal scholar to understand what an open court means.
So when petit juries return verdicts, the jurors come back into the courtroom after the trial and announce their verdicts.
So that's an open court where the public, the accused, all the attorneys, and anyone that wants to sit in is gonna see the face of the petit jurors that are returning a verdict in a particular prosecution.
