So basically what this is, it's mostly AI-generated summaries with some light analysis of various events and sell side conference transcripts and earnings transcripts of companies that i cover and i say it's mostly ai generated because i'm still involved with like you know spot checking the information and i still you know exercise some judgment on what to include what to cut out some editorial choices there so you haven't been fully
automated away yet
Yeah, exactly.
I haven't been fully on that.
It was still in the loop.
And so, yeah.
So like, you know, the last slop took me, I don't know, a few hours, I guess, to just spot check and organize and put together.
So it's not, not a huge amount of time, but, um, but it's not nothing either.
Right.
So I'm not just handing the wheel over to AI at this point.
Um, And so, yeah, I, you know, the reason I put this together is because I would say the number one piece of feedback that I get from subscribers is they want more updates on names that I've covered in the past and they want it at higher velocity, you know, and, you know, and I do that with like, I'm starting to do that a little bit more with like scuttle bits and, but, but those are, But the stuff that I write, those things are more meant to be like thought pieces, right? And I wanted to reserve those for consequential events that impact the long-term positioning of a company.
So like, you know, I don't want to do a scuttle bit on say like API group because, oh, like three months have passed and they report a quarter.
So I guess I have to say something about it, right? Like that's not interesting and it's not like a good use of my time.
So like sometimes more than a year will pass before I provide an update on a company because they're just, hasn't been something that's changed fundamentally about the thesis, right? But, you know, like, look, the thing is people are hungry for information and it doesn't have to be groundbreaking information.
It doesn't have to even be all that insightful.
They just want to know what's going on, right? And so I felt like Scuttle, Slops, and AI is just a really good use case for that.
And I feel like it's a good fit for my blog in particular because the core service, like the stuff that I author personally,
It
doesn't deal with like day-to-day news flow.
It's more focused on the longer-term strategic stuff.
And so, you know, like the impact of AI on Moody's or Verisk, like that kind of thing, right? And so I don't feel like Scuttle Slops cannibalizes that stuff at all.
And I also feel like, like long form analysis is still like a domain where humans can add tremendous value.
Whereas I feel like the incremental value that a human can provide and things like earnings, right.
Or earning summaries.
Yeah.
