Today’s episode begins… well, we’ll let you figure out the surprise about that beginning. It leads us into a discussion of AI, how it both hurts and helps, and a few cool things we as blind and low…

So we went into one of those music creation AI sites, plopped it in and hit create or whatever it was and downloaded the song.
It's a little more to it than that, if you want to get a good song out of it.
If you want to get a good song out of it, yes.
If you're lucky like I was, you just pop it in and get a song.
What you guys just heard was not the song that he was playing me.
It took a little time over a couple days of creating lyrics, tweaking lyrics, having some help from ChatGPT to create lyrics, doing a lot of my own lyrics, and then plugging in styles and trying to figure out exactly what we wanted.
And we've got a ton of stuff in our folders now of different songs, but that is one of them.
And it's one of the ones we like.
We have several that we actually really like.
But over time, you'll probably hear clips and snippets
of different ones and get to hear some of what we've come up with for these.
As a musician, right, I am really, really torn about AI in general, right? I love to hate it and hate to love it.
But I know how helpful it can be in many circumstances.
But I also know how crap it can be in certain circumstances.
And in the case of these music services, I also know that it can really hurt musicians and what they're able to do and offer because people will automatically go for AI.
So we just did this as a little, what? Experiment.
Experiment.
I like that.
Experiment.
to see what would happen, and it certainly doesn't mean that if we wanted something really good at any point, we would not hesitate to hire a good, real musician to do it, because I would feel really weird doing anything else.
But this is just a fun thing.
We were kind of plugging things in, and I've always said to Chris, I really wish I had more room in my house for a studio or more know-how in my office to make a digital studio and then have a little closet that I could record in.
Because if I did, I'd be making a lot of stuff myself because that's always kind of been my dream is getting all the music and scores and pieces out of my head, vocal and instrumental, and turning them into something.
