Republic Services

So beyond the going back to the maybe the residential beyond the three types of pickups that occur currently, what are some of the other services offered by Republic to our residents through this process?

Yeah.

So a lot of the additional benefits of Republic services or what a resident can find are going to be through the Meridian Transfer Station.

And, you know, what we find when we talk to people, there's a whole lot of residents that don't know Meridian Transfer Station really even exists, which is.

honestly, it's a compliment for a transfer station, right? Usually they're in the middle of a city for operational efficiencies.

Oftentimes they're surrounded by businesses and residents.

And if everybody knows it's there, it means it's probably because it's smelly, right? And so the fact that a significant portion of our population doesn't know it's there, we're going to take that as a win.

But at the transfer station, we offer a whole lot of various programs, right? So there's the household hazardous waste drop-off, that customers can find.

I believe it's monthly is what the current cycle is right out there.

There's a needles and sharps drop off annually.

There's a drug drop off through that we partner with the Meridian Police Department.

And I believe they even bring in the DEA on that.

And it's a no questions asked disposal of medication and others, other items.

Once again, at Meridian Transfer Station, there's free bulk item drop-offs.

There's free appliance drop-offs, bulk metal.

During leaf season, residents can drop their leaves off.

So it's really a community asset out there.

Excellent.

You talk about maybe some different types of hazardous waste in the we've had a couple of fires here in Meridian recently, and some of them are often attributed to batteries.

Talk to me about batteries.

Yes, sir.

So, you know, everything has a lithium ion battery in it now.

Right.

I mean, your phones, your laptops.

Right.
