So the business has evolved quite a bit over the last few years, but you can think of us as a B2B services business that sits between multi-site waste generators.

So think of apartment complexes, restaurants, hotels, storage units, et cetera, and waste haulers, like Waste Management, Republic Services, Waste Connections.

And multi-site waste generators have a lot of on-site waste needs.

Those range from valet trash to picking up bulk items like couches and mattresses to things like they need recycling containers decontaminated.

So what that essentially means is that power is completely consolidated within the existing incumbents with very little, if no chance for any disruption whatsoever.

So the top three private landfill owners in the US are waste management, favorite of mine, heard it on the stock before, Republic services in two, and then waste connections in three.

So when it comes to market share, There are two ways of analyzing market share.

The first is publicly traded market share.

These three control about 70%.

So waste management is the clear leader with around 35%.

Republic services in the mid 20s and then waste connections in the low teens.

They're then followed up by a few smaller players, GFL, Environmental, Clean Harbors, Casella.

So, uh, we've been focused on that, but also we passed resolutions specifically, uh, with picket line protection.

Prior to us coming in, there was no mandate to negotiate picket line protection, meaning that if we had an organizing drive and/or a contract dispute with Republic Waste, uh, and we had to strike, uh, whether it's over recognition and/or over a contract dispute, where we've been successful is extending picket lines because we do have that picket line protection, especially in the solid waste.

And when you have trash piling up on streets, that puts tremendous pressure on the electeds.

So we've been successful there.

The transfer stations, we've focused on organizing the transfer stations.

We shut down a huge transfer station in Ohio during the Boston strike with Republic Waste because we had the ability to extend picket lines.

So, uh, not only utilizing our members to organize, but making sure we have the tools and the existing contracts to support, uh, future organizing drives or contract disputes in the waste.

But, uh, we are rock solid focused on organizing in the waste division.

He was about to buy National and Alamo Rent-A-Car.

He owned the sports teams in South Florida, and he had started-- Well, he started Waste back in the '80s, but at this time, he was starting up Republic Services.

So it, it just by chance, somebody took a chance on me because I could communicate and thought I could learn.

I kinda use those principles now when I hire.

And my journey started in the late '90s with a startup company around Republic Services, and it's garbage, and it's, it's grown to what it's, uh, become today.

That's funny and interesting.

I live in Orange County, and Republic Services is what we use today.

Mm-hmm.

Now, the campaign comes at a decisive and pivotal moment.

Philadelphia's previous waste disposal contracts expired June thirty of this year, twenty twenty-six, and the Parker administration announced plans in July of this year to award new contracts to WeWorld Waste Management and Republic Services.

The proposed contracts require city council approval.

WeWorld incinerates a substantial portion of Philadelphia's municipal waste at the Delaware Valley Resource Recovery Facility in Chester County, PA.

I'm just assuming.

We have Home Depot and we have Republic Services, the company that holds away your trash.

These are real businesses.

They are making real cash.

Uh, so the decision, uh, to keep Republic Trash, uh, as the, uh, collector in West Goshen, uh, followed a competitive bidding process.

Uh, there was two companies who submitted proposals, uh, but the Republic Services emerged as the lower cost opf-lower cost option by a wide margin.

Um, they had the-- So currently, West Goshen gets trash pickup twice a week, um, and they had been toying with the idea of moving that down to once a weekly, and actually asked both competitors to bid it as a once or twice a week option.

And then they were gonna go back to residents for a preference on that.

Springfield City Council last night approved a three-year contract worth more than $4 million for biweekly yard waste collection with waste management and heard from Republic Services representatives that letters will be going to residential waste customers in Springfield who were overbilled in the last few cycles.

Republic Central Illinois General Manager Aaron Batiste explained to the council last night that an error with Republic's web portal signed customers up for wrong fees.

But he said the issue has been rectified and credits will be issued in upcoming cycles.

So we will be ordering two new collection vehicles to support the program.

In the meantime, we will be using existing fleet assets, but there will be new trucks arriving for this program.

Letters will be going out to Republic Services residential waste customers in Springfield who were overbilled in the last few cycles.

Several residents alerted city council members of excessive charges for the Republic waste collection.
